I Started spinning records in 1989, my early influences were Chris Sheppard, Don (Dr. Trance) Berns & Terry (TopKat) Kelly on Toronto local radio. My first love was always techno, and favorite labels growing up were FFRR, Strictly Rhythm & Nervous. I moved to Alberta Canada when I was 18 and started playing in clubs while also finding my way into the radio scene as well (AM 1390 CJCY, AM 1270 CHAT and MY96 FM specifically). It was not before long that I co-founded Phreaky Phellows Productions along with Ryan Organ (LoDubs/Anthem Records Portland USA) & Jessie Swain (Medicine Hat CAN). During that time I brought to, and shared the stage with Lori J Ward (Flavourite Records Toronto CAN), Dekoze (Hi-Bias/Footwork Toronto CAN), Jeff Galaxy (Connect Tribe Regina CAN), Cliff Tangredi (Roxy Club Orlando USA), Chris Sheppard & Love Inc (Pirate Records), DJ Double D (SubLink Calgary CAN), Econoline Crush, Our Lady Peace, Trooper, April Wine, Tea Party, Dr Hook, Nazareth. Then making a move to Vancouver in 2000 I took up residency at a number of Vancouver hot spots, most notably Sonar, M-Bar, Viper Room, Shark Club & Au-bar. I shared decks with scene regulars like DJ Czech (Vancouver/Prague), DJ Jesse James (Standard Vancouver CAN), Marlon J English (Republic Vancouver CAN), RC Lair (Arizona/Vancouver), Mirka L Cerny (Black Tiger Recordings/CJSF 90.1 FM Vancouver CAN) & Jon (DJ XL) Hamlin (Standard/The Fiddle Vancouver CAN. I Also opened for such notables as K'OS (Universal Music Canada), Benny Benassi (Ultra Music), Kaskade (Ultra), Mauro Picotto (Bakerloo) and my own personal idol Marco Carola (Music On). In 2002 I received an offer to DJ onboard Princess Cruises, which I took and stayed working onboard (Holland America and Celebrity Lines as well) until 2009. You can catch me live in Thunder Bay on LU Radio 102.7 FM (www.luradio.ca to listen online) for my two hour show (1 - 3 PM EST) called "A Day in the Life of a 90s DJ) which is all the best classic EDM tracks that got us to where we are now.   You can also follow me on Soundcloud. http://soundcloud.com/jasewatty Support me on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/DJ-Jase-Watford/282413308483398 And check Beatport for my tracks and charts! http://dj.beatport.com/jasewatford Thanks for reading my profile, listening to music, and all kidding aside, choose hugs, not drugs!

I have been a dj since i was 12, and also run a number of nights in Manchester and various other places, including my own radio shows. I like everything from electro to breaks, but breaks are my first love. I love creating wild and wacky bootlegs of all genres. It's hard to explain my favourite artists as there are so many to mention. If its PHAT i'm there.

Numark Mixdeck with Traktor PRO and a Harbinger Pro Audio HA60 P.A. Setup for Sound. Too many to list,if i spun vinyl,my music collection would be the size of a small planet. but a couple of my Favorites are Jonny Cage,Stanton Warriors,MaxWell Booker,John Cody,Dave London,Filthy Rich and so on so forth. BREAK BEAT MUSIC!!!!! KEEP IT ALIVE!!!! What's Goin' On Folks? Hamilton Beach Here, A Little Bit About Myself, I'm Originally From a Small town Called Enterprise,Alabama, But For Such a Small Spot There Was Definitely a Huge Electronic Music and Dance Scene. I Am a Huge BreakBeat Fanatic. Seems Nowadays That The BreakBeat Genre has Began To Fade. That Shit Will Not Happen On My Watch. I Have Only Been Spinning Records For 6 Months Now, But I've Been In The Scene For Over 10 Years. Even Though I Only Have Half a Year's TurnTable Time, But I'm a Very Quick Study And I Am Here To Drop THE BREAKS!!!!! Download My Sets And Let Me Know If You're Picking Up What I'm Puttin' Down. Even If You're not a BreakBeat Listener, Swipe My Set Called "Great Value",It Is a Serious House Rocker And May Change Your Mind. Their Is going To Be a Whole Lot More Comin' Atcha' In The Near Future. My Only Mission From Here On-Out Is To Keep The Breaks Alive. I Came Here To Rock This MotherF#%ker, Hamilton Beach. I'm sure by now that you have realized that i am a die hard breakbeat disciple. but not to the point of being closed minded to other genres. Simply put,I love any and all GOOD music. I refuse to spin music that I wouldn't normally listen to just because the media says that it is on the hot sheet. i have a wide selection from about every style and BPM. Everything from jungle to breaks to dirty dutch house to hardcore gabber. i just simply refuse to spin shitty music. I stand by my story. " STAND BY YO' SHIT AND REPRESENT!!!!!!!!! "

Welcome all, to “love and best of music”, where we try to share the best of all genres to fit all tastes. Permit me to share a little about my history, and how `love and best of music’ came to be and its aim. Firstly, allow me introduce myself…. I am `DJ Chonka’… a gentleman of slightly older years (Very late 40s early 50s), who has amassed a fondness for quality sounds along with a few grey hairs. Having the fortuitous luck to have been born in the early 70s, I was blessed to have been surrounded by great music, introduced in my early years, by my mother (shout out to mum, love your posts on the Love and best of music’ Facebook Group), influenced by such an eclectic array of sounds. Ranging from Reggie’ (Reggae), soul, Motown, to funk, gospel,!synth-pop, and the likes of Bryan Ferry and the brilliance of Kraftwerk from the 70s early 80s… alas, there are far too many to mention. Those influences paid me in good stead for my formative years, as I learned more about my own musical tastes i.e., mid-80s electro (shout out to the b-boys and the b-girls out there living the dream), then comes the mid to late 80s early 90s, and the start of the second summer of love for the UK, with electronic dance music and the indie scene kicking in. I was a young man who fully embraced the music of the times such as Frankie knuckles, Marshal Jefferson and a guy called Gerald. It was the early 90s rave scene, breaks (Breakbeat), big beat, rock, among others, where i had the opportunity to try my hand at mixing on the `1s and 2s’ (decks), mainly breaks with the odd bit of big beat, trip hop and techno. Whilst being privileged to see some great bands perform at festivals during the same years. Which leads us to about 5-6 years ago, where the first seeds of the love and best of music’ were planted. Social media had given me an opportunity to share my love for music with friends and friends to be (as they say “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet”). So not only could I post my favourite tunes and mixes with everyone who loves music, but they too would have a platform to share their favourite music or influences, even their own mixes, or maybe even a composition or two of their own. 2022 is an all-new beginning for the love and best of music’…. We now have a YouTube, Mixcloud and Twitch channel, where you can find the best in all genres of music to fit all tastes, we will be live streaming on each of those platforms. To be in the loop, catch us on the love and best of music’ on Facebook and don’t forget to Follow’ us for any new content there. Check out the links, and don’t forget to like and hit that Subscribe button. Thanks for checking us out. Peace. Love. Happiness. Chonk Out! living life to the max and loving it. ok so heres my story. about 30 years ago i went clubbing all by myself, sad!! i hear you say but not really is my answer as i loved what Djs done and wanted to do it. At first i used 2 portable cd players and a mixer that did not work out so well lol. i then upgraded to cdj's paid loads of money but still felt as if my work was lacking in areas my beat mixing was way off and i had high and low tracks which sounded quite bad in the mix. i then had some lessons in beat mixing which helped me loads. i joined up to house-mixes and met some very helpful people there who help me loads with my mixes im still very critical of my own work and always mix on the fly. i pay for all my tracks as i thank the ones who made them. i will give you my work for free so if you want a mix, message me and i will hook you up free of charge 😁 my fav quote: its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. respect😁

Pair of Technics 1210's mk2's i've had since '93, and a 2 channel Numark M3 mixer i got in '09, cos my 'Realistic' mixer was completely shafted when i dug it up after about 9 years! Nothing flash in my pan! Plus one Pioneer CDJ500S, and a DENON 3500,(cd decks). Also a Pioneer cd recorder, which has made life much easier, after recording onto old school cassette tapes, until pretty recently! I've also used Pioneer 1000 mk3's, 800's, and the Pioneer 2000 cdjs, whilst playing out in Djsville! Currently mixing and experimenting with Traktor pro 2 and a Numark controller. Classic vinyl, mostly 1988-95ish, and from '99 to 2001, when i got back into it after a break. Mainly vocal style u.s. garage & euro house, funky, soulful, chugging & dubby stuff, deep vibes, progressive, odd bit of early techno, aswell as recent, classic and brand new soulful, funky, deep , progressive or uplifting vibes on burned cds, usb sticks or stored on the hardrive n laptop . It all started way back in 1990 for me. House/ Dance/ Rave music, was a new scene back then. The music, the people and the atmosphere, was like nothing i'd ever experienced. The Warehouse, Back 2 Basics, The Gallery and Hi Flyers in Leeds, After Dark in Morley, The Ku Klub in Huddersfield, Hacienda/ Manchester, Rennaissance/ Nottingham, The Zone/ Blackpool, Monroes/ Blackburn, Love 2 Be in Sheffield, Hard Times/ Mirfield and Huddersfield, were all personal faves from 1990 to '95. After teaching myself 2 beat mix on a pair of odd, belt driven beasts, that id got in 91, i finally got a pair of Technics 1210's in 1993, and never looked back. My aim as a dj is simply 2 try and give people a good time, and mix the best i can, with a nice selection of tunes, in an order that flows well. Be it just listening @ home, whilst driving 2 work and back, or letting yourself go on the dancefloor, on that 1 night u get now and again, to leave lifes troubles behind, that's what it's all about! It should never be about the dj and his/her ego. That's the 1 thing i hate about the scene, especially today. Bedroom or Worlwide 'name' Dj, it really shouldnt matter. Fame, fortune and glory isn't what house music is about in my opinion. Its about unity, having a good time and playing and enjoying good music. And if i can play a part in that, i'm happy! I try to have a beginning, middle and ending to my mixes, and they often follow a similar pattern. A nice opener, then usually i build to more peaktime tunes, then round up on one or two classics or ideal 'end of the night' tunes. A kind of 'mini night out' if u like. Well, that's my aim at least! Dance music influences would be: All the early Dj's i used 2 get lost on the dancefloor to, starting back in 1990, (Not sure who they were, it just didn't seem 2 matter back then!) When Djs became 'big names!' that i took notice of, (1992ish): Graeme Park, Sasha, Todd Terry, Dave 'Joey Negro' Lee, Tom Wainwright, Tony Walker, David Morales, Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Ali Whitehead, Masters at Work and plenty others i cant think of, all made me sit up and take notice. But i never got into the 'Dj worship' thing too much. Once i learned how 2 mix, and witnessed the mistakes i heard being played out, that the legends of the mixing game made, i realised they were just humans like me and everyone else! There is definately a skill involved in the choice of tunes and flow of a set that will keep the crowd buzzin', but i mean, 9 outta 10 dj's are basically just playin' other peoples records! And even if they play their own creations, there is nothing uglier, than some dj, on an ego trip! Influences on me outside of the dance music scene, cover everything from Rock n Roll to Disco, the Punk movement in the late 70's, 80's electronic stuff, the 'Madchester scene', and everything in between! I'd name drop Joy Division, The Sex Pistols, The Smiths, The Happy Mondays, New Order(early stuff), Orbital, Underworld, Leftfield, early Prodigy, all had an effect on me with their albums & pioneering sounds. I have mellowed with age, you can probably tell by my mixes!
